| The Troia Golf Championship
Course was designed by renowned golf architect Robert
Trent Jones Sr. and is considered to be one of Portugal's
most beautiful courses, with its unique location between
the sea, the Sado Estuary and the Serra da Arrábida.
The course is a masterpiece of design,
for Robert Trent Jones Sr. managed to maintain the links
tradition, creating an extraordinary course, winding
through the verdant pines, rolling over the golden sand
dunes, and using the sand itself as its main obstacle.
Trent Jones himself considered Tróia's hole number
3, a par 4 which borders the beach, to be one of the
best holes he ever designed. So much so, that drawing
on his life's work of over 500 courses, throughout the
world, it was included in his "The Ideal 18-hole
Golf Course" collection.
Widely recognized as one of Portugal's
finest designs, Troia Golf Course was classified by
Golf World magazine, as the 25th best golf course in
Europe (2003).
